Frequently Asked Questions
Every Homeowner Has Questions. We're Here to Provide Honest Answers.
Plumbing systems are one of the most important – and often least understood – parts of a home. Whether you’re dealing with an active leak, wondering if your water pressure is too high, or simply trying to understand your options before making a repair, asking questions is the smartest place to start.
We’ve assembled answers to some of the questions we hear most often to help you make informed decisions with confidence. If you don’t find the information you’re looking for, we’re always happy to help. Our team believes that educated homeowners make better decisions, and we’re committed to providing straightforward advice without pressure or obligation.
What makes your diagnostic water system review different?
Most plumbing companies focus on the immediate problem—a leaking pipe, clogged drain, or broken fixture. While solving the issue is important, it doesn’t always address why the problem occurred in the first place.
At Liquid Plumbing, we take a systems-based approach. Every service begins with evaluating the health of your home’s plumbing infrastructure. Depending on the situation, we may:
- Measure incoming water pressure
- Test pressure-reducing valves (PRVs)
- Inspect thermal expansion tanks
- Examine shutoff valves and vulnerable fittings
- Look for signs of aging polybutylene (Quest) piping
- Check for hidden leaks or corrosion
- Identify potential failure points before they become emergencies
This proactive diagnostic process often uncovers small issues before they develop into costly water damage. For example, discovering a failing pressure regulator today could prevent multiple pipe failures tomorrow.
Our goal isn’t simply to repair plumbing—it’s to help homeowners understand, protect, and extend the life of their entire plumbing system.
Why do you offer $0 dispatch fees when other plumbers charge just to show up?
We believe homeowners deserve honest advice without paying simply to have someone knock on the door.
Many companies charge service call or dispatch fees before any work is performed. At Liquid Plumbing, we remove that barrier by offering $0 dispatch for our service area.
That means:
- No charge for coming to evaluate your plumbing concern
- Honest recommendations without pressure
- Clear, upfront pricing before work begins
- No obligation to proceed with repairs
We earn your trust through knowledge, professionalism, and transparent pricing – not through trip charges.
What exactly does your 1-Year Labor Warranty cover?
We stand behind the quality of every repair and installation we perform.
Our 1-Year Labor Warranty covers workmanship on the services we provide. If a repair or installation fails because of our workmanship within 365 days of completion, we’ll return and make it right at no additional labor cost.
This warranty includes:
- Plumbing repairs we performed
- Fixtures we installed
- Pipe replacements
- Valve installations
- Water heater installations
- Other covered plumbing workmanship
If the issue is related to the work we completed, you won’t pay another labor charge.
Please note that normal wear, manufacturer defects, accidental damage, freezing, abuse, or unrelated plumbing failures are not covered under the labor warranty. Manufacturer warranties on products remain separate and continue to apply where applicable.
How do I know if I have Quest (Polybutylene) piping in my home?
Quest piping, also known as polybutylene (PB) piping, was commonly installed in homes built between the late 1970s and mid-1990s. While it was once considered an innovative plumbing material, it has since developed a reputation for unexpected failures.
Signs that you may have Quest piping include:
- Flexible gray plastic water supply pipes
- Pipe stamped with markings such as PB2110
- Plastic insert fittings and aluminum or copper crimp rings
- Original plumbing in homes built during the 1978–1995 timeframe
Common places to inspect include:
- Near the water heater
- Under kitchen and bathroom sinks
- Inside utility rooms
- Crawl spaces
- Basements
- Garage mechanical rooms
If you’re unsure, don’t guess. Our technicians can quickly identify whether your home contains Quest piping and discuss replacement options if necessary.
Should I replace Quest piping even if it isn't leaking?
In many cases, yes.
Quest piping often deteriorates from the inside out. It may appear perfectly normal while becoming increasingly brittle internally. Unfortunately, many homeowners discover the problem only after a sudden pipe burst causes significant water damage.
Replacing aging Quest piping proactively can help:
- Prevent emergency plumbing failures
- Avoid expensive water damage repairs
- Improve long-term reliability
- Increase buyer confidence when selling your home
- Potentially reduce insurance concerns in some situations
If your home still contains original Quest piping, we can evaluate its condition and explain your replacement options without pressure.
